Our Power Tools cards enable people to quickly learn and practice the Recovery Method’s self-help system. Each set consists of 60 of Abraham Low’s cognitive-behavioral concepts, or “tools,” with an explanation of each on the back of the cards.

If you are new to our self-help groups and system, these cards are ideal for you to more quickly learn our self-help techniques. They are also a great way for people who have been involved for some time to easily explain the “tools” to people who are new to the system.

Example Power Tools cards include:

  • We can’t change an event, we can only change our attitude toward it.
    Definition: You can’t change what happened, but you can change your attitude about it.
  • There are no uncontrollable impulses, only impulses that are uncontrolled.
    Definition: We can control our impulses or our muscles, if we choose to.
  • Fearful anticipation is often worse than the realization.
    Definition: Worrying about what could be is often worse than what is.
